Our Classrooms

At Nolan’s Nest, we use the FunShine Express Curriculum across all classrooms, providing a cohesive, research-based learning experience for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. While each program is tailored to developmental stages, our focus goes beyond age — we emphasize confidence, curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

At every stage, Nolan’s Nest is committed to nurturing the whole child — socially, emotionally, physically, and academically — while creating a safe, supportive environment where learning feels joyful and meaningful.

 

Infant Program

Our infant program centers on secure relationships and early development through loving, responsive care. Using FunShine Express as a guide, caregivers support development through daily interactions, sensory experiences, and intentional play.

Infants will:

  • Build strong emotional bonds and trust with caregivers

  • Develop early communication through sounds, gestures, and facial expressions

  • Strengthen motor skills with tummy time, reaching, grasping, and movement

  • Explore sensory experiences such as music, textures, and visual stimulation

The most important outcome at this stage is helping babies feel safe, comforted, and confident as they begin to explore the world.

Toddler Program

Toddlers are discovering their independence, and our program supports this exciting stage with hands-on learning and structured routines. FunShine Express activities encourage exploration, language development, and social interaction.

Toddlers will:

  • Expand vocabulary and communication skills

  • Practice independence through self-help routines

  • Engage in sensory play, music, and movement

  • Begin learning to share, take turns, and express emotions

  • Explore early problem-solving through play

This program helps toddlers build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of accomplishment in everyday tasks.

Preschool Program

Our preschool program focuses on school readiness while still honoring the importance of play. Through FunShine Express, children engage in meaningful learning experiences that promote academic, social, and emotional growth.

Preschoolers will:

  • Develop early literacy skills such as letter recognition and storytelling

  • Explore math concepts like counting, sorting, and patterns

  • Participate in science exploration and creative arts

  • Strengthen social skills through group activities and cooperative play

  • Practice following directions and problem-solving

Children in this stage grow into confident learners who enjoy asking questions and expressing their ideas.

Pre-K Program

Pre-K at Nolan’s Nest prepares children for a successful transition to kindergarten by building both academic readiness and life skills. FunShine Express provides structured learning while allowing children to learn through exploration and discovery.

Pre-K students will:

  • Develop strong pre-reading and early writing skills

  • Practice basic math concepts and logical thinking

  • Build independence, responsibility, and self-regulation

  • Participate in collaborative projects and group discussions

  • Strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills

By the end of Pre-K, children leave Nolan’s Nest feeling capable, confident, and excited for the next chapter of learning.
